Our mission

How a bath becomes a forever home

We're a volunteer-powered nonprofit. Every dollar funds the supplies, transport, and groomer time that gets shelter pets adoption-ready.

  1. We coordinate

Every week we deploy mobile grooming vans to partner shelters across Los Angeles County — from West Hollywood to Long Beach to Pasadena, plus events in New Jersey and beyond.

  2. Our groomers transform

Volunteer professional groomers donate their time and skill. A full spa day for each pet: bath, brush, nails, ears. Total dignity, restored.

  3. They get adopted

A clean, confident pet is dramatically more visible to adopters. 89% of shelter dogs and cats we groom find a forever family within days — sometimes hours.

Our origin

Twenty-five years of pampering pets.
One mission to save them.

The Foundation was founded by Chuck and Yael — the husband-and-wife team behind Go Hollywood Grooming, LA's premier mobile pet grooming service since September 2001 — twenty-five years and counting.

After more than a decade of grooming LA's most pampered pets, Chuck and Yael kept seeing the same heartbreak every time they visited a shelter — animals overlooked for the one thing they could change. A bath.

So in 2015, they launched the Foundation. Today, every Go Hollywood booking supports our work, and every donation directly funds another shelter pet's transformation. The two organizations are separate (the Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3); Go Hollywood Grooming is its for-profit partner), but they share one mission: every pet deserves to look — and feel — their best.

"When you book a groom, you help a shelter dog find a home."

Common questions

Frequently asked

What does the Foundation actually do?

We organize volunteer professional groomers to provide free grooming at animal shelters. Every week we deploy a fleet of mobile grooming vans to partner shelters across Los Angeles County, with additional events as far as New Jersey. Roughly 89% of pets we groom are adopted or fostered within days.

How does a bath actually help a shelter pet?

A clean, well-groomed pet looks healthier, smells better, and photographs beautifully for adoption listings. Many pets at shelters are passed over simply because their coat is matted or dirty. Grooming restores their dignity — and their visibility to potential adopters.

Where do you operate?

Our home base is Los Angeles County, where we partner with dozens of municipal shelters and rescue groups. We've also coordinated volunteer groomer events in New Jersey and continue to expand nationwide.

Can I volunteer as a groomer?

Yes — please. If you're a licensed professional groomer who wants to donate your skills to shelter pets, email info@hollywoodrescuegrooming.org and we'll connect you with the next event in your area.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Hollywood Rescue Grooming Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 88-1234567). All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
