East Valley Animal Shelter (Van Nuys) — one of our most-served partners.
We deploy our mobile spa vans to East Valley Shelter as often as we can — sometimes weekly. And when we host a full event there, we groom 100+ dogs in a single day.
Where East Valley is
East Valley Animal Shelter is one of six shelters operated by Los Angeles Animal Services (LAAS) — the city's municipal shelter system. It sits at 14409 Vanowen St, Van Nuys, CA 91405, serving the northeast San Fernando Valley: North Hollywood, Van Nuys, Sun Valley, Panorama City, Reseda, and surrounding neighborhoods.
It's a busy, high-intake shelter — which means it's exactly the kind of place where a groom can be the difference between a dog getting adopted and a dog getting overlooked. So we show up.
How often we're there
Whenever we can. Sometimes it's a normal weekly van visit — a small team, a handful of dogs. Sometimes it's a full-scale event: five vans, 20+ volunteer groomers, all coordinated with East Valley staff to prep as many adoptable dogs as we can in one day. Those event days regularly hit 100+ dogs groomed. Every one of them gets:
- A full professional groom — bath, blow-out, brush, nails, ears
- De-matting for coats that need it
- Post-groom photos for the shelter's adoption listings
- A bandana or bow — often the small thing that catches an adopter's eye
Why East Valley matters to us
East Valley has been a partner for years, and the staff there make our work possible — they coordinate which dogs come out to the vans, they handle the intake and post-groom flow, they update photos and listings as fast as we can groom. It's a real partnership, not a drop-in. That's what makes our numbers there so consistent.
