Partner shelter
Burbank Animal Shelter — free grooming for every adoptable pet.
Every week, adoptable dogs from Burbank Animal Shelter make the short trip over to our Go Hollywood Grooming store for a complete, no-cost spa day — then head back to the shelter camera-ready and ready to be someone's family.
How the partnership works
Most of our shelter grooming happens the traditional way — five mobile spa vans and 20+ volunteer groomers roll into a partner shelter for the day. But Burbank is different. Because Burbank Animal Shelter is right in our backyard, the arrangement flips: the shelter brings its adoptable pets to our store, and our full team of professional groomers takes them from matted-and-forgotten to bright-eyed-and-adoptable in a single afternoon.
Every week, Burbank staff coordinates which dogs need it most — the ones who've been at the shelter longest, the ones whose photos aren't attracting adopters, the ones whose intake left them scared and disheveled. They come to us. We do the work. They go back to the shelter with a fresh coat, clean nails, clean ears, and often a bandana or a bow. And usually, within days, they're gone — adopted or fostered.
What each dog gets
- A complete professional groom — bath, blow-out, brush, nail trim, ear cleaning, sanitary trim
- De-matting for coats that need it — no charge, no shortcuts
- New adoption-ready photos — we photograph them post-groom so the shelter can update their listings
- A finishing touch — bandana, bow, or seasonal accessory to help them stand out on the adoption page
Why grooming makes such a difference in Burbank
Burbank Animal Shelter is a well-run municipal shelter — but even the best shelter can't save a dog whose adoption photo shows a matted, dirty, terrified-looking animal. Studies (and our own numbers) are consistent: a groomed shelter dog gets adopted faster. Across every shelter we work with, 89% of the pets we groom are adopted or fostered within days. Burbank's numbers track with that.
