For those who served
Free pet grooming for US veterans.
The Foundation provides free professional grooming for the companion animals of US military veterans living in Los Angeles County. They served. Their pets deserve a spa day too.
Why this program exists
For many US veterans, a companion animal isn't a luxury — it's therapy, structure, and family. A reason to get up in the morning. A buffer against the things that don't go away after deployment ends.
We've spent years grooming the dogs of LA's most pampered pet owners. When we started visiting VA outreach events, we kept hearing the same thing from veterans: "I'd love to get him groomed but it's not in the budget." So we made it our budget.
What's included — at no cost
Any veteran living in LA County (or visiting) can request free grooming for their pet. A full session includes:
- Bath & conditioning with PETCPR+ approved products
- Brush-out — including mat removal where needed
- Nail trim
- Ear cleaning
- Sanitary trim for breeds that need one
- A look-over for any health concerns we can flag for follow-up with your vet
How to request a free veterans groom
Two ways:
- Email us: info@hollywoodrescuegrooming.org — include your service branch, the city/neighborhood you're in, and your pet's breed/size. We'll get back within 48 hours with the next available slot.
- Call us: (310) 476-3353
We don't require paperwork to verify your service — we trust you. We do ask that you let us know if our schedule isn't a fit so we can offer the slot to another vet on the waiting list.
Partner with us
If you work for the VA, a veterans' service organization, an American Legion post, or any group that supports LA-area veterans and want to coordinate a group event (we can bring the vans to you), please reach out. We've partnered with several outreach organizations and would love to add yours.
Service dogs & emotional support animals
Our grooming is open to any companion animal a veteran has — including service dogs and emotional-support animals. We're also happy to coordinate with the veteran's existing service-dog trainer if there are specific handling preferences we should follow during the appointment.
