Welcome to the Hollywood Rescue Grooming Foundation.

The story actually begins twenty-five years ago — long before the Foundation existed.

In September 2001, Chuck and Yael started a mobile pet grooming company in Los Angeles. They called it Go Hollywood Grooming. Twenty-five years later, it's LA's premier mobile pet spa — a fleet of vans cage-free, restraint-free, and trusted by pet owners from Studio City to Downtown.

But the more pets they groomed, the more they couldn't stop thinking about the ones they weren't reaching. Every time they visited a shelter to volunteer, they saw the same heartbreak: seniors with matted coats. Cats so dirty their colors were hidden. Pit mixes whose adoption-listing photos showed them looking sad, scared, and overlooked. And the same realization, every time: a bath would change everything.

So in 2015, they launched the Foundation — a separate 501(c)(3) meaning your donations are tax-deductible — designed for one purpose: to organize volunteer professional groomers to serve animal shelters at no cost, anywhere they're needed.

How it works

Every week, we deploy a fleet of at least five mobile grooming vans to a partner shelter. Volunteer professional groomers — donating their time, their skill, and often their day off — give every animal we can a full spa day. Bath. Brush. Nails. Ears. Fresh photos for the adoption listing.

The result is dramatic. We groom more than 700 shelter pets a year, and about 89% of them are adopted or fostered within days — sometimes within hours.

Where we work

Our home base is Los Angeles County. Over the past year we've partnered with shelters from West Hollywood to Long Beach to Pasadena. But the model travels — we've coordinated volunteer groomer events as far as New Jersey, and our network of partner groomers is growing nationwide.

Every event is free to the shelter. The groomers don't get paid. The supplies, the van fuel, the coordination — that's what donations cover.

Beyond the shelters

We also bring our vans to people, not just shelters:

• Pets of veterans. Free grooming for the companion animals of US veterans — because they served, too.
• Pets of unhoused Angelenos. On-site mobile grooming for the pets of people experiencing homelessness in LA. Dignity, comfort, and care.
• Low-income families. Subsidized or free grooming for families who couldn't otherwise afford professional pet care.
• Santa Paws Miracle Makeovers. Our flagship annual holiday event — dozens of shelter pets transformed and matched with families in time for Christmas.
• Disaster response. Through our partnership with the American Red Cross, our vans deploy after LA wildfires and other disasters to groom displaced pets while their families recover.

What your donation actually funds

We're lean. Over 90% of every dollar goes directly to grooming program costs:

• $25 — shampoo, conditioner, and brushes for one shelter pet's spa day
• $50 — a complete groom for one shelter pet (most popular)
• $100 — fuels a mobile spa van and groomer team for one shelter visit
• $250 — sponsors a full shelter event (about 25 pets in a day)
• $500 — funds one partner shelter for a whole month of grooming
